Beamer passed away at 10am 6th Jan 17.

Those of us who remember the strapping A Veh mechanic know what a valuable team member of the Tank repair crew whose exploits featured in Australian magazine in the turn around achievement of batlle causualty to back in service. Other workmates at the time were John O`Grady, Pete Lucas, Ron Laing, Maurie Gillick and Dennis Rettig.

Beamer never said much, my lasting memory of this man born in Burnie Tasmania on 6 Sep 1948 was at Frankston 2016 reunion. His body was withered and his speech limited. However, the beaming smile on his face when he had a wobble and without falling got back into line to form the guard of honour for our women folk at the Gourmet BBQ entrance.

His son Michael was his father`s carer for our reunion and they and we were pleased of their attendance. It is believed that a large wake shall be held in Baskerville Tasmania.
