What now? Nearly fifty years on from Vietnam The first article on this page gives a synopsis of 106 Fd Wksp when established and as it lives on in the form of a titled subunit of 106 Fd Wksp 7CSSB. The 50 th anniversary of the founding of the unit in Vietnam will be upon us in 2018. Celebrations for this will be held in Brisbane in 2018. More detail on this will come in time. Major John Sinclair (as he was when OC 106 Fd Wksp SVN) was a standout soldier and personal friend. He always had his men in mind even after he retired. Not many people would know that besides being the creator of what is now the "106 Fd Wksp SVN Website" he was also responsible for the birth of This site started about 35 years ago when my old friend then Lt. Further to the “Vale Ron ‘Scrubby’ Dyne” topic on the Forum: Ron (Scrubby) Dyne, a prominent RAEME identity, who started out as an Army apprentice and retired as a LTCOL after 31 years’ service before engaging in a prominent career in local government in Gympie Queensland, passed away recently. Association member, Jim Hislop, has asked other members to give consideration to supporting the ‘naming’ proposal cited in the article from the Gympie Times on 3 Mar 2015. Beautiful Hobart and what a great Reunion. The best of people - 106ers and partners - turned out and fielded a parade of about 100. The Friday night's Meet & Greet went really well with the traditional renewals of comradeships; and thanks to Vince (Enzo) Iannuzzi who shared his 'Wrest Point Bonus' and put $100 over the bar! Saturday daytime was spent sight-seeing around Hobart and doing things with smaller groups of mates and partners.
